The protection system consists in limiting the energy available in the dangerous atmosphere in such a way that the combustion of the ambient gaseous mixture cannot occur, even in abnormal conditions of use.
VIREx detectors in combination with a Zener barrier and complying with a special connection mode form an intrinsic safety system.
The VIREx is designed to monitor premises with explosible atmospheres whatever the degree of danger, in accordance with CEI 79-10 (zone 0, zone 1 or zone 2)
ELECTRİC CHARACTERISTICS
The product is classified intrinsic safety for a limited power supply with maximum intensity characteristics of : 28 Vdcs - 110mA.

SENSITIVITY
Detector sensitivity is adjustable with a special tool. This means the 3 classes defined for the 2 types of fires in standard EN54-10 can be obtained :
class 1 : distance ³ 25 m,
class 2 : distance ³ 17 m and implicitly class 3: distance >12 m.
The VIREx is set for class 2 on roll-out.
This means the user can opt for class 1 or 2, by changing the threshold using the "T.E.A.".
CONE OF VISION
The angle of vision within the meaning of standard EN54-10 is ±30° around the optical axis of the detector.
It is ±45° around the optical axis of the detector at maximum mid-distance.
